So, it's December and Winter is coming soon. Of course, with that, the solstice, and with that, the lengthening of the days, and the holidays. I hope you havea had a nice Thanksgiving holiday and are enjoying some cold weather adventures. And still we must keep in mind all the suffering that goes on at this time in the world.
As to advantures, here are some of ours.
First, I have a virtual poetry reading coming on the 26th of December, boxing day, but in the evening, 7 PM, EST, via Zoom I'll be reading poems from all of my books, plus some newer work.
Here is a link to register for that reading. I would love to see some friends there online the day after Christmas.

I also had the opportunity to give a poetry reading at Gibson's Bookstore in Concord, NH last month.
And we took a trip to Detroit to test an ecectric camper van RV.
Plus we had many walks and some bike rides, as you can see in this set of photos.
I thought I'd start with a photo out of the front of a restaurant in Corktown, Detroit MI.
Here are more photos from Detroit
We took this trip in order to check out an electric RV camper van. Just 3 nights in MI. We had the camper just one night and visited some small towns and lakeshores.

Early December Hike
We went to Pawtuckaway State Park in NH this morning, December 4. Here are some photos.
This was a sculpture en route to our hike this morning. Bears and trees.
A very strange squash
I cooked this squash I purchased at Trader Joe's. I usually can make a circular cut at the top of the squash and lift the top off to clean out the seeds. This pumpkin was so unusual, it went down about six inches before you hit the seeds. As a consequence, I baked the squash with the seeds in it.
Some hikes and rides we took

A December hike in Carlisle
We rode our bikes from Bedfore MA to the Charles Rvier and into Charlestown all on bike paths
Friends and Holidays
We had the opportunity to meet up with friends and family over the recent holidays.

Closing up Bear Island and Moving the Houseboat
November 12, 2023, we went back to our house on Bear Island and closed out the house, lifted the dock, and brought the houseboat over to the marina. It was a very cold day. We brought our two boats over to the marina, removed the batteries, and tied up the houseboat.
