Autumn around the Corner

It's hard to believe that just days ago we still experienced very hot days when now the winds are blowing and the air is cool and comfortable. I have been meaning to post to the blog since my last posting, as I am sure that I forgot some images, but here we are, almost the equinox, the lake levels are getting pretty low, and I haven't posted.

So much has taken place since the end of July. We had a nice visit on Cape Cod, and did some bike riding when it was cool enough, and otherwise enjoyed our swims and paddling. I gave two online poetry readings for my new book, "Signs of Marriage" my new chapbook of poetry. One was not recorded but the other was recorded to a FB group here (you will have to ask permission to view it).

I have a few of in-person events coming up: At 65 Washington Street, Weymouth, MA at 6 PM with Tom Laughlin. This reading has an open mic that follows and a wine and chees reception.

I am also reading in person on Tues Sept 20 at 7 PM at the Arts at the Armory Café, 191 Highland Ave Somerville, MA (with parking) along with Wendy Drexler and C.D. Collins. There is also an open mic after this reading.

The other reading is September 29 at 6:30 PM at the Meredith Public Library at 91 Main St in Meredith, NH. In addition, this is a hybrid  reading available on zoom. The link is available by emailing Erin and requesting the link. I will be there in person and Diannely Antigua, the poet laureate of Portsmouth NH will be reading virtually. There is also an open mic after this reading.

So, here are some photos. I will interject comments as I go along. the following is my favorite butterfly cloud formation.

As always, it would be lovely to hear from you.

Music Day

On August 21, we had a day of music around the lakes region. We started in Center Sandwich at "Club Sandwich" which is owned by John Davidson, who at close to 81 is still writing songs and performing. He has a barn full of his memorabilia, which includes a bunch of kitsch as does his solo show. After his performance, we headed into Tamworth and caught a free show at a barn for an hour and then headed to the Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast in Chicorua for stellar performance by Kenny White and friends, as well as a stellar meal that they serve beforehand. It was a great day of music and the wind had come up that day so we missed the strong winds as we headed home at night in our alumacraft.  These pics appear in reverse order of the day.

Photos of a Bike tour and Houseboat Travels

We took the bikes to the Northern Rail Trail in Danbury NH and went north for a nice ride. We also took the houseboat to Fish Cove for a visit, which was fun, but there was a lot of boat traffic with lots of waves on the way. We cooked our breakfast en route and had nice visits with friends.
