Greetings for 2022

Well, we managed to cross over the new year into 2022, and stayed relatively healthy.

Since my last post, we closed the house and moved off of Bear Island and back to Carlisle. We've had many projects here at the house, and the most significant was installing (and plumbing in and lifting up and electrically hooking up) a monobloc heat pump to take care of our radiant floor heating, and eliminate our dependence on natural gas. We really put it through the test as we  have had it running in these sub-zero temperatures and so far we have stayed warm. A smaller project was to install a very large and unwieldy sheet of sheet metal under one of our sets of solar panels to improve snow shedding and so far that has worked as well.

We've also taken some nice hikes in the woods and explored on our bicycles. We have been trying to explore new places, even close by.  I've also been skiing around town a bit, especially in our yard when there was enough snow.

Plus we get to get together with our local friends (mostly outside) from time to time) and that has been nice as well.

Well, here is our pictorial news for the last 2 2/1 months.

Oh, and I made 3 more videos for exercises you might do after knee surgery or in general.

As always it would be lovely to hear from you.

The following is of the trail we have at our house (on our property).

Whenever I find myself on the trail I feel a sense of serenity.

Claude's New Toy

Santa came often when it came to the monobloc project.  This is Claude's new very compact oscilloscope. Why would he want such a toy? Because the monobloc has some sensors, connectors, and a controller but there is little documentation about the coding required to implement the control protocol we want using the RS485 connector using Modbus,

Here's the whole story-apparently in reverse, starting with the antifreeze refractometer reading table and down to the initial receipt of the equipment.
